Claude

CSV Getter for Claude and ChatGPT

Let your AI assistant read, profile and query your live datasets without spending your tokens on the data itself. Your data stays on CSV Getter's servers; the assistant only receives the small answers it asks for.

Your connector URL
https://www.csvgetter.com/mcp

One URL works for Claude, ChatGPT and any other app that supports MCP connectors. The connector is read-only: it cannot change, delete or create datasets, and it never uses your export credits.

Claude
  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the connector URL above.
  3. Claude sends you to CSV Getter to sign in (or create an account) and click Allow. Done.
ChatGPT
  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create, paste the connector URL and pick OAuth.
  3. Sign in to CSV Getter and click Allow.

Needs a paid ChatGPT plan. In a Business or Enterprise workspace an admin may need to publish the connector for other members.

Things to ask
  • "What datasets do I have in CSV Getter?"
  • "Describe my Invoices dataset."
  • "Total revenue by country for last quarter from my Airtable sales table."
  • "Which customers have an overdue invoice? Give me a count by month."
  • "Give me a JSON URL for this dataset filtered to Status = Open."
What Claude can do
list_datasetsLists your export endpoints: uploaded CSV files, Airtable tables, Notion databases and Google Sheets, with their columns.
describe_datasetProfiles one dataset: row and column counts, each column's type, nulls, distinct counts, numeric ranges, top values and a few sample rows.
query_datasetRuns a read-only SQL query (SQLite dialect, table name csvgetter) and returns up to 200 rows as JSON.
get_endpoint_urlBuilds the public export URL for a dataset with the format and parameters you ask for, ready to paste into a spreadsheet or app.
add_dataset_instructionsExplains how to upload a CSV or connect Airtable, Notion or Google Sheets in the web app.
Adding data

Datasets are added in the CSV Getter web app, the same way as any export endpoint: upload a CSV, or connect Airtable, Notion or Google Sheets and create an endpoint. Claude picks up new datasets the next time it lists them.

Freshness and privacy
  • Uploaded CSVs are read directly. Airtable, Notion and Google Sheets are read live, then kept as a snapshot for 15 minutes so follow-up questions are fast and consistent. Ask Claude to refresh when you need the very latest.
  • Snapshots are stored encrypted in CSV Getter's own storage and deleted automatically within 24 hours.
  • Query results are capped at 200 rows and long cells are truncated. Claude is nudged towards aggregates, so large tables stay cheap.
  • You can revoke access at any time by removing the connector in Claude. See our privacy policy for details.
